How we came to be

OKEAN was born at sea, inspired by the adventures of three teenage siblings on a boat with only a small outboard motor in the coastal region of São Paulo. Over the years, the adventures and the boats grew, as did the love for the sea and the bond of the brothers, too.

When the youngest of the siblings became seriously ill, the idea arose to build a boat to comfort her. Unfortunately, during the this project she passed away, but it planted the idea of a unique, differentiated boat, which was designed to provide an experience that combines comfort with performance. Years later, the project was taken up again by the brothers.

Initially, the idea was just to finish what had been started. But, as a result of offering a new, innovative perspective of experiencing the sea, the boat drew attention and raised interest in the North American market. Opportunities further arose for the development of new models, and the entrance of the international market was solidified.

From then on, the warehouse in Guarujá/SP no longer offered the necessary space needed, and the construction of the shipyard in Itajaí/SC was then executed. In an area of 280.000 square feet, the shipyard has 120.000 square feet of constructed area.

We are located alongside the BR 101 highway as well as the Itajaí-açu river. This is a strategic location that best facilitates delivery and excellence in customer service. Furthermore,our location is only a few miles from the Port of Navegantes and Port of Itajaí, as well as in close proximity to the International Airports of Navegantes and Florianópolis.

THE FRONT

Being passionate divers, the brothers inspired the creation of the facade of our plant in Itajaí. An unforgettable encounter with a whale is portrayed in a work of art over 131 feet of length.

It was conceived by the plastic artist Mateus Bailon, born in Itajaí . The work is underlined by OKEAN’s claim, “LOVE FOR THE SEA”.

The name OKEAN

We like to emphasize that the OKEAN name is the result of love. Love for the ocean as well as family. The initial in our logo is in honor of Karla, who is the sister who inspired the building of the first boat. Our logo is an homage of her, while symbolizing the love between siblings and the ocean.
